Cx reduces microvascular density in the chick-CAM assay. PBS (Control), Cx at 500, 1000 and 2000 ppm was instilled on chick chorioallantoic membranes (CAM) as described in Methods. Membranes were fixed and stained with H&E-Alcian Blue. Membranes were visualized (A) and number of vessels per 9000 μm2 was counted (B). Blood vessels are represented by arrows.
