In vascular cognitive impairment, overexpression of miR-219a results in down-regulation of NMDAR1 and blocked phosphorylation of CaMKII (left). EA improves the learning and memory function of VCI by regulating miR-219a-NMDAR1 interaction, promoting CaMKII-phosphorylation, and stimulating the firing pattern of EC-HIP CA1 neurons (right)
