From: Low concentrations of doxycycline attenuates FasL-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells

Fig. 4

Inhibitory effect of low concentration of DC on the FasL-induced caspases cleavage in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were treated with the indicated concentrations of DC (0.5 µg/mL) and FasL (50 ng/mL) as described in the methods. a The cells were lysed and then cellular proteins were separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gels and transferred onto nitrocellulose membranes. The membranes were probed with the indicated antibodies. Proteins were visualized using an enhanced chemiluminescence (ECL) detection system. GAPDH was used as an internal control. b Quantification of protein expression levels of FLIP-L, pro-caspase 8, pro-caspase 3, PARP1 and BID normalized to GAPDH. Data are the mean ± SEM (n = 3). The significance was determined by Student’s t-test. # p < 0.05 compared with DC group. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01, compared with FasL treated group. NS not significant compared with DC treated group, DC doxycycline.
